Which standards do you work in?
We author natively in S1000D (Issues 2.1 through 6), MIL-STD-40051, MIL-STD-3001, DITA, ATA iSpec 2200, and ATA Spec 1000BR, and we validate content against the governing DTDs, schemas, and business rules from the start rather than at the end.
Do you only write documentation, or do you build software too?
Both. Shakewell is a structured-content firm and a full-stack development house under one roof. We build the content architectures and the authoring, publishing, and integration pipelines that keep documentation moving at engineering speed.
Can you convert our legacy manuals to a structured format?
Yes. We build conversion pipelines that combine automation with inspection to migrate legacy PDF, Word, FrameMaker, and SGML content into modular, machine-readable formats — with validation gates so non-compliant content never reaches the deliverable.
Do you train our team, or just do the work for us?
Both, and we prefer to leave you self-sufficient. We offer hands-on, instructor-led training in S1000D, MIL-STD-3001, MIL-STD-40051, and DITA, plus an embedded model where your people own the architecture, decisions, and systems by the time the operation ships.
